HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 27

Requesting the Division of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Section, to provide an annual Veterans' Appreciation Program, consisting of discounts to veterans for certain park services during the week following Veteran's Day each year.

Whereas, Nearly two hundred thousand veterans in this State have distinguished themselves with the highest level of participation per capita in the great wars fought by this nation; and
Whereas, Veterans constitute an aging population, with veterans ranging in age from sixty-eight years for those who were in the Korean War to seventy-eight years for those who were in World War II, as well as other veterans of different eras, should be provided special opportunities to enjoy services at State parks; and
Whereas, State parks could offer special discounts to veterans during a recognition period in the off-season; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That the Division of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Section, is hereby requested to provide an annual Veterans' Appreciation Program, consisting of discounts to veterans for certain park services during a period in the off-season; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Director of the Division of Natural Resources.
